Saturday saw the Okehampton seconds play their last game of the season against merit table rivals Barnstaple having beaten them in overtime earlier in the season, this was always going to be tight .
After early pressure the ever improving Joe Mawle burst over to open the account with Luke Simmons adding the extras. Within 10 minutes Barum were level with a similar effort .No side was entirely dominant as penalties were exchanged. with half time approaching Barum were in no mood to roll over and scored a converted try to leave the half time score 13- 17 .
Whilst the whole team were in a massive battle, Okes centre Brandon Horne came good with two well taken tries from distance converted by Simmons, but this game was bound to come down to the nail with Okey down to 14 after Charlie White saw yellow. Barum then scored with 5 to go leading to a nail biting finish. The boys held out to prove the best season ever at Okehampton, with the firsts gaining promotion and the twos being crowned as county champions. all the boys have been a credit to the club.
