After a week off, and with the World Cup Final over, Okes recommence their SW Premier campaign with a lengthy away trip to fellow promotees Newbury.
These two sides have never previously met in a competitive fixture, although Okes did travel to play a pre-season match against the Blues a couple of years ago. Therefore both sides will know little of each other traits and strengths heading into Saturday’s fixture. Okes are still to win on the road this season, and whilst the Blues may lie bottom of the table, they have suffered several narrow defeats and have injured players returning to strengthen their squad.
This will be another tough encounter for the Okes but they cannot purely rely on home form, now would be the ideal time to gain that precious first away win. Every week the Okes side is forced into changes, hopefully this weekend several of last week’s absentees may return. However we won’t know full selection details until they are posted in the match centre later this evening………watch this space!
For those not able to make the road trip this weekend, there is plenty of other Maroon and Amber magic on show closer to home. The Super twos travel to Teignmouth, whilst the colts host their Teigns counterparts. The mighty Thirds/legends are also back in action, at home against old rivals Crediton.
Kick offs are scheduled for 2.30 PM, apart from the firsts who will be playing under lights with their KO scheduled for 3PM..
…. “Come On You Okes!”
