Okes are homeward bound this weekend as they welcome Bridgwater & Albion to what will likely be a wet and Wintry Showground.
Both sides had prized victories in their respective local derbies last Saturday, Okes seeing off Biddy away whilst the visitors had a welcome hoem win against North Petherton.
Okes did the double over Bridgy last season, a narrow tense home win was supplemented by what was one of the Okes outstanding performances in the away fixture. Conditions will no doubt play their part , and the Okes picked up at least one more injury last week that the selectors will have to contend with.
Player coach Martin Harrison -Browne shared some more oval bal musings ahead of this week encounter-
" Last week wasn’t pretty, but we turned up and did what was required. I do feel if the ref wasn’t so card happy we might have got the bonus point, however an away win I would take any day of the week. Going into Saturday's game we have selected a more mobile bunch, we have made a couple changes but I’m confident any of the lads are able to make the step up which is a compliment to our strength in depth. We are at home at our fortress and are looking to earn a minimum 4 points again this week. If results go our way and the Uni take a strong team to Launceston, and Cullompton continue their form, we could potentially leapfrog into 3rd place which would leave us in a strong league position ahead of Christmas."
Team news will be posted here later, please make the effort to come along again this week and get behind the lads.
"Come On you Okes!"...
