Boasting an impressive two from two record so far, The Okes travel for their toughest looking test yet as they head off on the long trek to Drybrook RFC.
Their hosts finished a creditable third in SW1 last term and have won one, lost one, so far this campaign. They are always a force on their home soil. The matches between the two sides last season resulted in narrow away wins on both occasions. However The Okes are forced to travel with a much changed side this week, as they shuffle the side due to six unfortunate simultaneous unavailabilities!
It's been an impressive start so far for newly ensconced player- coach Martin Harrison-Browne , and he shared some thoughts after last week's performance -
"The boys were outstanding in parts , the first half was pretty much perfect and the way we want to play. The second half was different as the pitch was against us, and we need to learn how to control play on the new pitch more effectively. We had a 10 minute dip in the second half, where I took a yellow card for accumulated team infringements. Once we calmed down again I think we took the control back which led to us getting our bonus point try. Cully’s pack were heavy and useful, but soon tired. Our Lineout went really well and our backs were superb. This Saturday gives other players a chance to stand up and put themselves forward for regular 1st team selection".
It's still very much a work in progress for the Maroon and Ambers this term , but travelling support certainly helps the boys away from home, so why not get yourself along to cheer the Okes on as they look to make it three on the bounce.. "Come On you Okes!"
