It's a landmark weekend at ORFC as the grand reopening of the front pitch and refurbished stand takes place.
There will be a pre match lunch attended by various VIPs and DRFU visitors, as well as club members and the family of club legend Ted Cann after whom the upgraded stand will now be named.
This will be followed by the first encounter on the new pitch, a home SW1 match against Teignmouth. Everyone is hoping for a dry afternoon and an open entertaining game to follow, which would open the pitch in style. Okes will be looking to get back on track after a disappointing narrow away defeat last time out at St Ives in awful weather conditions.
Okes hope to select from a near full strength squad later this evening. Teigns will come determined to move up the table and their efficient pack always provide a tough test. Okes are still in second place in the table and will look to maintain their strong home record ,whilst christening the new pitch with a win.
A sizeable crowd is expected, for those attending the meal, please endeavour to be at the club by 12 noon with a view now to being seated by 12.30pm.
"Come On You Okes!"
