The second phase of the front pitch improvement project was finally completed on Monday 14/05/18. Contractors Ecosolve returned the previous week to complete the work delayed from a month before by rain. Ironically, we now need rain to help the newly sown grass seed to germinate! Pictures of the work in progress will be posted on the club Pitchero web site, along with pictures of the shiny new ground maintenance equipment recently purchased by the club to keep the improved pitches up to scratch. The front pitch should be available in September or October, depending on growing conditions for the new grass.

Both the back and front pitch improvement projects were funded by grants from the RFU, Sport England, OUC, WDBC and other bodies and the purchase of the tractor and equipment received a grant from the Rugby Football Foundation. The other major project underway, to provide facilities on new land at Hilltown Cross remains mired in planning details. It is still being pursued but the slow rate of progress is extremely frustrating.
